    CLASSROOM RESOURCE

Give your students the Met Gala project to engage them in the fashion event of the year.

The Met Gala Fashion” project objective is to examine the fashion designs of celebrities and well-known designers attending the Met Gala. It is a fundraiser for The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. This philanthropic event has turned into the fashion event of the year for celebrities and designers. Personnel from all levels of the fashion industry are involved in making the event come to life. The buzz continues days after the event with reviews of who wore what; spotlight looks; and whether the designers really “understood the assignment”.

Students will have the opportunity to share their perspective of the Met Gala looks by:

    1. Watching entertainment shows/events. (homework)
    2. Observing themed fashion designs. (homework)
    3. Researching the looks. (homework)
    4. Reporting on your findings in the template provided. (classwork/project)

    COMING SOON...

Although I've detoured from the "Mastering the Production" series this week, I still want to remind you that I have a Fashion Show Production course that will available Fall 2024. It will provide a scope of resources to help you create and implement a successful fashion show. It's something I've wanted to do for years because a fashion show has so many moving parts. And of course, when you're managing students who are responsible for implementing the show, it really is a project management responsibility.

    The program will contain:

    • Video and audio modules
    • Project management framework
    • Propriety documents for management in all areas
    • Signature model call framework
    • An outline for creating your Fashion Show Bible
    • Media kit framework
    • Real examples from my productions
    • Highlights of my student-led fashion shows and more.

Stay tuned for the early bird invitation to access the program. I look forward to you having access to that. And I also look forward to hearing about your fashion show productions and seeing them on Instagram. So be sure to connect with me at Marketing EdVenture on Instagram so that I can see all the wonderful work that you're doing with your fashion program.
